HCLF Community Roundtables

Community Roundtables are forums on Zoom providing peer-to-peer support to patients and their families. Each roundtable is moderated by HCLF staff, board members, or volunteers. We request respectful conversation and an open mind to ensure a positive environment for all participants. To encourage candid dialogue and welcoming environment, we do not share recordings of the roundtable meetings.

Community Roundtable: Open to All

The open roundtable is for everyone impacted by HCL. It is a no-judgement space for people with HCL and their families or support network to listen, ask questions, and help each other. We encourage anyone affected by HCL or HCL variant to join these community roundtable discussions, which happen every two months.

What to expect: After a brief introduction from HCLF staff, participants will go into small breakouts to meet other members of the group and have adequate time to ask questions.

Community Roundtable: Small Groups

In addition to the open roundtable, we host small group roundtables to support specific needs, such as living with HCL variant, that can often get lost in the larger group setting. If you’re new to the group, you are welcome to listen and ask questions when you’re comfortable. We won’t put you on the spot. We hope you find a roundtable discussion that supports you wherever you are in your journey with HCL.

What to expect: After a brief introduction from HCLF staff, participants will go into small breakouts to have adequate time for questions and interact with others.

HCL Variant (HCLv) Roundtable

The HCL Variant roundtable is a welcoming space for people with the variant form of HCL and their family members to share experiences, ask questions, and support each other. HCLv roundtables occur every two months.

Women’s Group Roundtable

The HCLF Women’s Group roundtable brings together women with HCL to share experiences, ask questions, and offer peer-to-peer support. Women’s group roundtables occur every two months.

Clinical Trials Roundtable

The Clinical Trials roundtable is for people with HCL and their support network to learn about HCL clinical trials from other patients. During each roundtable, one or more patients who have joined trials will share their experiences and answer questions. We hope to raise awareness of opportunities to make a difference in HCL research.
